About the Album

Before Portishead released its debut album Dummy, the band had barely performed. In fact, they were hardly a band. It was only after the album became so popular that the group realized they probably could and should play some shows. Dummy sold over two million copies in Europe and earned them 1995’s coveted Mercury Music Prize for the best album in the UK and Ireland, beating out Tricky, Oasis, and PJ Harvey. We’re going to cover each and every track at Venkman’s on October 7th.
