About the Album

ATL Collective is thrilled to bring our 3rd annual reliving of Lauryn Hill’s “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” to City Winery Atlanta on June 22nd.

Lauryn Hill’s 1998 Album of the Year captured the spotlight from the male-dominated hip-hop mainstream and introduced themes of female identity and sexuality. Hill’s solo debut draws from soul, R&B and reggae influences to showcase the depth of her voice and blaze a path forward for the next generations of hip hop artists.
The one and only Téja is back as our Music Director for this show. Téja has worked with artists including Lil Yachty, JID, Janelle Monáe, Frank McComb, Musiq Soulchild, Chrisette Michelle, Carol Albert, Kindred the Family Soul, Kenny Lattimore, Angie Stone, and Chandra Currelley – as well as her own all-woman band, VENUS.
